Absolutely gorgeous mate. In Australia, particularly in Victoria, we have very strict road-worthiness laws (rip in the seat? That's one point. Too many clicks on your handbrake? thats another point. Chip on your windscreen? Now your at 3 points and that's a defective vehicle) However! For cars 25 years and older you can get Club Registration which avoids a standard road worthy inspection (but comes with with its own set of conditions)
